WTF? i thought i was bad on the net when i'm pissed.

bar hitting the dizzy? if you're talking about trying to get the engine in the bay, and, the sheet metal that goes between thelights at the front, then undo the screws that hold it in place.

otherwise, only bar i know of is down the bottom and its called a sway bar, and, if you dizzy is fouling on that then you're either putting the engine in from underneathe with the crossmember attached (so undo the swaybar and get it out of the way) or you're putting the engine in upside down (in that case god help you)

hope this helps

Is the bar in question a tube approx 15-20mm in diameter? If so it's the swaybar... I'm struggling to think of anything else which fits the description you've given, but I'm also struggling to see how the distributor could foul the swaybar unless (as suggested above) you're installing the engine upside-down or sideways or something!

well i guess its most likely the sway bar then, but it doesnt seem like a swar bar, there are two square bolts on either side of the engine bay that im pretty sure hold this bar. I really wish i had a camera to take a photo, and trust me the engine is going in the right way, and i just realised lol, in my drunken state i said dizzy when i MEANT alternator, yes im a dick. plz forgive me Embarassed

btw...love the title to this thread...

does sound like the swaybar. you may have to make up a bracket to mount the alternator higher..

It still doesn't make sense though... if it's a standard 2T, it should fit in a TA22 without fouling anything... they came with a 2T from the factory after all!

Of course if the alternator has been bodged up to fit in another engine bay, that's a different story...
