I may be an old fogie thats out of touch with you youngins... but how can a learner ride a 650cc bike? last i remember the largest capacity bike that a learner OR P plater could sit their ass on was a 250??

Maybe the law has changed since i got my bike licence?

There are certain bikes over 250 learners are able to ride.

They were mostly introduced for the larger people who were too big for the 250's

the learner and provisional limit rule is based on weight to power ratio not really capacity

eg: certain 250's are even not learner legal cause they are too powerfull

now there are certain 500cc, 600 cc etc bikes that are more designed for torque not power....so since the rule is for power to weight not torque to weight they are still legal for a leaner or P plater

capiche ?

yeah. nothing beats the torque of a big single. basically can open throttle from idle and have it pull..
