skyline gtr r32/33
relatively cheap easy to modify and it will pass off as another wangsta tryhard in a skyline
only exterior mods that can be seen are exhaust, wheels, lowered, and FMIC
fuk these cars go hard...

I always wanted to buy an evo, and reverse rice it.
put giant rims on it, boeing rear wing, ditch the skirts and bonnet for stock lancer items, and a snow plough front bar.

I always thought the Cressida with the 1JZ was one of the best sleepers... In VIC, if you own a Cressida you are 90% likely to be of pension eligable age. From what I read on this forum, it seems younger blokes are also into Cressidas in other states.

I dont think skylines are sleepers because they look good and are know to go hard. Theres a Toyota Tarago in Adelaide with a evo vr4 motor and Toy Hiace with a 13b Turbo in Newcastle, they are sleepers.

something like a rt132 Corona ( the grandpa owns one type , round lights ) with something akin to a 1ggte in it would be fun ..
Id keep the hubcaps on for effect ..
A crown wagon - like Stitt's would be awesome with a JZ series in it - low - pimp wagon .. It would HAVE to be black ....
ive already owned a semi sleeper
ZH ford fairlane ( the big limo style ) stock ride height - just looked like your every day big cruiser to tow a horsefloat - with a Stroked 351.. ( 6.5 ish litres, fresh c10 auto , rebuilt 9 inch LSD with disc's )
it absoloutly hammered in a straight line - pure and utter torque ..
The brakes and suspension were very ordinary, it cornered like a small cargo boat ..

or the Supercrown, that certainly doesn't look fast.
and a Datsun Stanza that was at jamboree. Had an sr20 in it with a big turbo. Ran 10's and looked like poo!

well if u lived in melbourne everysecond wanker has a skyline gts-t badged as a gtr
u get an r32 gtr..debadge it and there u go
unless your a skyline nerd you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.. the only way you could tell that its a gtr in the middle of the night is if you can spot the big ass brembo brakes

Since anything more exotic jap car than basic model of corolla, carina, camry, hilux, hiace and land-cruiser (and similar models from nissan and mazda) are rare here in europe. So I would say ultimate sleeper would be Volvo 142/242 with JZ . BTW. Volvo is the only car that I could consider to buy aside from Toyota or Datsun.

So far...
Car - $6500
Front Cut - $3800
Wheels/Tyres - $1600
Brake Booster mods $300
Transmission service and mods $500
plus all the other smaller expenses - engine mounts, new plugs, filters and belts etc... say $600

I'd still say a camry SV21 'wagon' for sure...
matt chalk white paint.
stock rims.
The engine would be a gt4 3sgte worked off it's nuts though.
have a baby seat in the back. and a drive 2 right sticker on the window
NEVER wash the car.
have that little electrostatic eliminator strip hangin off the back bumper. and those big dorky "wind visors" on the windows HAHAHA. Also, have the clear plastic front protector (y'know the one that sits around the headlight garnish).
urm... have some beaded seat covers. and a lambs wool steering wheel cover.
And Oh yeah.. a cream/brown cardigan hangin off the passanger side seat
Now that would be the ultimate sleeper heheheh. Imagine the look when you ripp some commonwhore tryhard, or stock sports cars...

Bah- Damn You! beat me to it
This one might see fruition, fingers crossed...Mum's (un)faithful 1986 740GL volvo runs out of reg in January, and since it is fux0red from one end to the other, she isn't re reging it.
I think that with a basically stock 1UZFE and auto it would be a fantastic sleeper. About 300-400kg lighter than the soarer the motor would be from, not to mention having a strong diff and big brakes standard...This one is that horrible beige/off white color, with some scratches and dings, and the 740 badge is missing off the back... I think it would be perfect. Get sick of sleepering, spray it up in gloss black, drop it on some 18/19" rims and instant pimp!
Down here there is a shitty late 70's 240 volvo with a 5.0 ford V8 in it, I assume it goes hard (it would have to). Looks like shit though, missing bumpers, crap paint, hotwires....

Ooh Ooh... I just remembered... Some dude in Dandenong sold an old Fairlane V8 hearse on Ebay, a few months back, for $1500. Whack a big block Chev in it a coffin in the back and you have yourself a WICKID sleeper.
No one would drag ya tho out of respect, maybe.

They aren't nearly as heavy as you think....
740GLE (all electrics, leather, luxo barge) - 1315kg!
240GLE - the older style shape - 1290kg
Compared to a UZZ30 soarer at 1640KG (at least!), with the same engine (hence power) thats a decent power to weight ratio. No need to strip it at all.
And the Iron Volvo 4 cylinder is a really big, heavy thing, I wouldn't be surprised if the alloy 1UZFE was lighter than it. The soarer will do 0-100 in ~6.8s, so minus 300kg, a volvo with the same motor would be a rapid machine....

My ultimate sleeper... Cressida with 1j
I've never looked at a cressie the same way since I started using these forums.
As for the sleeper that I wouldn't expect to beat me. A bloke I knew a few years back had a Daewoo Espero with 4wd running gear in it (WRX or Evo he was evasive on the setup) However I've never heard anymore about it, I don't think he got it through engineering.

The best sleeper I ever had was a datsun sunny sedan with a SR20 turbo (x nissan 200sx) tucked neatly under the bonnet. We even modified the original muffler to have a dum pipe come out the mid area and still look like the stocker, with widened still rims the car looked stock and shocked a lot of rice boys when you blow them away at the lights.

my brother just sold his silvia.... it was the two tone champagne/dark grey with a big black v painted over the home- made bonnet scoop and the FMIC was painted black. the rims are bronze-ish 17' P1 racing with 255's on the rear covering GTR brakes.
the reason for the dodgy bonnet scoop was to clear the VG30DET he had in there with trust TD06 and custom everything.
at 1 bar it made 210 rwkw and 650nm and at 1.3bar it was more like 252rwkw.
it looked a bit dodgy but broke traction in every gear
everyone thought they would whip it but no-one did....

My ideal ultimate sleeper:
RA23 (can you tell I love em??) with nice paint, set of wheels. Just so it looks clean and tidy, with a 300 rwhp 3sgte in it
no crappy blow off valves, just a plumback system so that its relativly silent
See someone line up against that and not get smoked (Or see some smoke anyway)
Or the ultimate:
AWD 3SGTE RA23 -- Anything's possible with enough money

When I'm 60 or 70, I'm gonna grab an old Rolla or something, do it up with RWD, Sequential Gearbox, about 400KW turbo.
Silent exaust, perhaps 3", but with a 1.2" tip, and an electronic bypass for the primary muffler going to a big ass muffler the isn't visible from anything but the under side.
Hydraulic Suspension that lowers real quick from stock height to racing height.
Box over intake with an electronic switch from standard "chocked" intake to the free flowing cold air intake.
Heh heh heh.
I know it's stupid, but... well yeah I'm a bit nuts.
