Fuel Economy for 20V Wed, 03 December 2003 09:14 Go to next message
What difference in fuel economy can you expect when comparing a 100kw 4AGE to a 20V in normal city traffic and on the freeway?

I would have thought that there would be minimal difference. The 20V would only use more fuel when it was spinning at >8000rpm (ie not often if you're just driving around the city...)

Are you suggesting that my contribution (which was clearly described as a "thought" - not a "fact") is incorrect? Do you know better? If I'm wrong - ok - lets hear it!

jeez I'm a bitch

sorry Razz

I dont actually know the exact answer, but waht I do know is that there's a good reason why when manufacturers quote fuel consumption, a certain % must be done in city traffic.

for a little 20v, I'd guess 2-3L/100km difference

What i was really looking for is would you notice much difference between 3000 - 5000rpm because a friend of mine has a vtec civic and it just sucks juice on the hwy at that rpm

In my 20v i can drive down from newcastle to sydney and drive a bit down there and back and use half a tank, now thats well over 200km so i would say that i good enough, there is not much difference at all and yes i can say that because i have both a 4age 16v and 4age 20v.

later Craig

Would you even say that the 4age 20v is more fuel efficient than the 16v?
