I have been in contact with a supplier in japan
and under negoations of an AE86 GTV APEX -
1984 also available AE86 GTV hatch back.
FOB Yen330,000.-No dents repainted, LSD, suspension,
5 seaters, no modified at all, no bakcet seats.
all cars engine, mission and head gasket good condition.
Clutch is but well condition.
4,174.10 AUD
just wondering what else i would spend on top of this?
shipping taxs, and getting on the road. my budget is 7k would it reach it? also under 15 year old compliance is easier now isnt it?

man that's a clean car...
I think it'd be more than that..
cause you've got FOB charges.. (agents fees)
Shipping is a few k.
and also, once it's landed, will cost between 1-2k to be on the road. You've got all that admin and customs charges too
realistically, you are looking at about 9-10k I reckon... But I could be wrong..
anyone else?

"shipping, customs, dealer fee (1000) and other "official" shit - $4150
complicance, small repairs and rego - $3100"
i got this from ae86drift's one of his post when he broke it down for his car thats what he paid excluding the cost of the actual car.

All your estimates are fairly close. I'm a freight forwarder and the one comment I always get from importers is "geez, if i'd known it was going to cost me this much i wouldn't have bothered"
You really need to do your homework and find out how it is actually going to be shipped - on it's own or with 3 other cars in a container. This is going to effect your landed costs. Also try contacting customs or a customs broker in your area to clarify exactly what you're going to be up for in the way of duty and taxes.
Or, find a freight forwarder that will give you a door to door quotation - you may end up paying a bit more, again, it depends on your budget, but a freight forwarder will do all the running around and shit-kicking for you..
And no - that's not an advertisement!
