Approved by the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile - the international governing body for motor racing, rallying etc.
Amongst other things, they approve seats, seatbelts, driving suits, etc for competition cars. For certain events (e.g. Rally Australia) your seats, etc must be approved by the FIA, whereas in lower-grade competition lesser technical standards may be acceptable.
