Car Pulling Under Brakes?!? AE86 Sat, 03 January 2004 08:58 Go to next message
Hey Ppls,

Ive just changed the wheel bearings on the left front wheel on my AE86, and now when braking it pulls strongly to the right hand side.

Is there any reason why this would happen? Mabey the nut for the hub is too tight/loose? Ive done it up just past tight and backed it off about 1/8 turn.

Any help appreciated!

did you remove the brake caliper when you removed the hub? did you disconnect or accidentally loosen the brake line? it sound slike you may have done something to affect the LHS brake caliper. pull off the wheel, and get someone to push the brake pedal while you are watching to make sure it's all working properly.

check bearign tightness again, and compare to the RHS one..

also check tyre pressures....

If you did do something with brake line it might be worth bleeding the brakes just in case, before doing anything to drastic atleast.

Check you didn't replace the caliper with a twist in the line.

my celica did the same thing, i actually put the pad that was on the inside on the outside and vice versa, the pads were worn on an angle so the right side (which i did not pull apart) was using a full pad while the left wheel was only using 1/4 of the pad....
