Absolutely not.
18-RC/G/GE/GEU are a 2 litre bottom end with either single cam (C) or Twin Cam (G/GE/GU/GEU) head.
2T-C/G/GEU are the same as above, but are a 1600 bottom end. The std 2T is a pushrod engine, wheras the 18-RC is a OHC.
Comopletely different animals, hence the completely different engine codes

sort of right
the 2T/B/C is pushrod motor
the 2TG is not. its DOHC (chain driven)
indeed the 2T series is a 1.6, the 18R is a 2 litre.
the 18R is the forerunner of the 3S, the 2T is the forerunner of the 4A

definitely not the same engines...
firstly, the 18r is a single cam, whereas the 2tg is a DOHC. and both engines have different capacities. (18r is 2.0L and the 2tg is 1.6L) They are conpletely different engines altogether.

Wish they were, cause then my 2T-GEU would be a 18R-GEU, which acording to the bean counters has a higher KW output and better low end torque?(dont quote me on that though...)
