It's debatable. Factory claims are about 8.0 seconds 0-100 for the naturally aspirated model, Modern Motor got a disappointing 9.5 second 0-100 for a 1989 model, and a 16.5 quarter (I think, don't have the article on me).
Top speed is reputed to be about 198km/hr (in fourth), for the NA (again debatable), and about 2km/hr extra for the 4agze.
I'd say the Modern Motor times feel about right (and yes, I have timed mine, and got about 10, 0-100, hand timed). Feels faster on road, though..

Factory gze's were ment to do low 15's. But then again they wern't designed for straight line use anyway.

I dyno'ed mine with 70kW at the wheels with mild exhaust and intake mods, 4th gear. It was on a Dyno Dynamics and they were trying to sell one to the company I was working for at the time, so the figures might be a fraction optimistic.
Not the quickest in a straight line, but short of an S2000, the best road feel and agility I've experienced - better than the SW20 for fun factor.

Haha, yeah, but the Soarer got owned till quarter track by a Laser! If it was a rolling start the MR2 would've got owned, Soarer is way quicker when its on the move.
