Hey what car is this??? i know its rice but i cant put my finger on it, the guy that owns it reckons its a rx7

RX7
 
Notice the totaly different rear and front end and back of the cab. Also notice the different body curves.
If he STILL thinks its a RX7, then get him to give you a picture of under the hood. If the engine is Transverse, like the MX6s is, then it's NOT an RX7. An RX7 is a rear wheel drive, not front like the MX6.

Yeah, tell him that. And then tell him to sell his MX6 and buy a RX7. Then tell him to take it out in the wet.

Like I said, TELL HIM TO LOOK UNDER THE HOOD. If the engine is Transverse (ie, goes from one from wheel to the other) then it's a MX6! If however it goes from the front of the car to the back, then it's a mutant MX6, or a RX7 with the body of a MX6... so it's realy an MX6 with an RX7 engine and a RWD conversion.
Pah, this guy sounds like a dick.
SERIES I, II & III RX7 (1979-85)
SERIES IV & V RX7 (1986-91)
SERIES VI, VII & VIII RX7 (1991+)
Tell me at what point does the RX7 range look anything like that MX6?

I'm pretty sure that every RX7 has always had pop up headlights.
Every RX7 is RWD. Note pix in Shraka post.
That's EVERY RX7 ever made.
Get him to put the handbrake on & dump the clutch. If it spins the front wheels its an MX6.
There should also be a build plate from Mazda on the firewall. I bet it says MX6.
I also bet it sounds nothing like a rotary.
 On second thought, if he can't tell the difference even now, I don't think he deserves to own either car.

Bet him $100 & then go with him to Mazda & ask them.
The guys in the workshop will get a laugh out of that too.
And seeing he's so adament that its an RX7, he'd probably go along with this plan.

Nah the funniest thing is, he still doesnt think he is wrong!  He goes to me that he told the dude at mazda to go on my side, and that his "rx7" is the new one and noone has it yet cause his dad is a importer! Oh well!! If ther is a toyota cruise in melb i'll bring him along everyone can win $500...

Next time you see him pop the hood. RX7s are REAR WHEEL DRIVE ROTARIES. MX6s are FRONT WHEEL DRIVE V6s. If he can't tell the difference between the two then there is no hope.

Nah, Tell him to take the 'rx7' in the rain and try for oversteer. He can put his buckled rims next to ones that came of a civic that passed me in the rain one afternoon, but never went much further then the next street
