87' Celica SX for sale - *SOLD*

Hey,
Selling my Celica, its a 87 SX model, white, 3sge engine..
The body is in great condition, and the Interia is perfect, The interia is that blue color. (i can arange a pic of the car)
the engine has what i think is a bent valve, it still drives but heats up very fast, (i drove it home, 5km).. it hasnt been started in a couple of months..and is now smokie..
It has just ran out of rego,
mods;
Genie Headers, Extractors.
Big Exhaust with dump pipe at the back.
Strut bars.
Lowered.

sounds very tempring at that price but more info needed.
A few things i would like to know:
Ks, transmission and any body damage/rust
If you got some pics that would be cool.
It depends on how much it needs to be fixed, but it sounds good.

hey,
its a 5 Speed.. has about 250k on the clock.. but the current motor has done about 80k..
theres no body damage.. there is some slight rust above the front wind screen.. i will have a pic up tomorow..

Odd that your motor should be developing problems after 80k, u still got warranty?

No warranty.. the engine had an oil leak, the oil ran low, and problems occured..
im selling the car, because i have a couple other cars, other wise i would of thrown in a 3sgte or some thing, the car is just taking up space at the moment.

Yeah low oil could cause all sorts of problems, i'll check it out (pics would also be good, but nothing as large a 1mb (try using .jpg format)).
And if it needs a rebuild/new motor then i'll have to weigh out the costs but im betting i would end up infront.

Is there any chance it could be taken to a mechanic for an inspection and get a quote. (If everything else checks out that is)

Yes, the engine will need a re-build or a replacment, these engines sell as low-km units from about 600 and up around sydney workshops last time i looked..
the car is out of rego, it would have to be towed + inspection cost, im not really up for doing this, like i said i have a few other cars that my pay goes into atm..
RobST162; im not sure about the susspension set-up all i know is its lower then stock, i dont think its any thing fancy, i will check it out.
the pic was ment to be up today, but i didnt goto work (where the scanner is) due to illness.
will be scanned tomorow..

Not my place to jump in, but the wheels and front end show me that this is a late-85 to late-87 model, not the updated 88-89 model.
What does the compliance plate show ?

umm, it really depends on what you want, its not really a money issue, the main reason im selling the car, is because i need the space for my other cars.
if i start striping, all i have is a shell and parts every where, which takes up more room and is harder to get rid of..
i may consider tho...
(price of car is negotable)

Holy crap thats cheap..
If it was running I would have snapped it up straight away... Like if it was running at least to make the distance...
$800 for a WHOLE st-162 with exhaust, good condition body, the interior being very good condition. Lowered. realatively good kms.... U might wanna consider even wrecking it to ppl on here... Or taking it to the Wreckers.. I'd imagine u'd get at least $1000 for it ???
If I was in Sydney, yeah i would have snapped it up.. It would be perfect for someone wanting to do a gen 2/3 3sge or a 3sgte...

Yea cheers man, i dont really want to wreck because i need the space.. so i would rather sell whole to get it out of the way..
i was going to do the 3sgte conversion.. but got bundled up in other projects.. so yep.. its for sale.. open to offers..

I kinda wanted a project car to park in the garage and work on
I guess I will have to just take my lovely baby to the next level and have no wheels for a while when I go to work on it.. but you are right mate, my car is pretty damm fine..
I think SMT_007 will have something to say soon on this thread....
