Does any body know where i could get a decent cam for my Toyota Corona RT142 22RE. i have checked out "CRANE" and they do 4 different types but 2 of them are for hilux's and one of them is meant for track racing only so it idols like a bitch so I've only really got one to chose from, and to top it all off they don't give any prices.
could you please suggest some decent (track day / road) cams and if possible prices
CHEERS - all help will be greatly appreciated

LC Engineering in the US is the place to go for 22R gear.

Don't expect a cam to do much until you've done some SERIOUS head work and other supporting mods. The 22R cylinder head is intentionally designed to be restrictive in an effort to increase low-rpm torque. This is just one of the reasons a 22R isn't worth playing with; it was never designed with performance in mind.

the 22re is a good motor in my opinion, it has a strong bottom end but is suffered with a restrictive head.....
it depends on what you are aiming for and your budget of course

the head flow wasnt designed for upper rpm power. However it can be made so. big valves, porting, big cam. 200hp n/a is not that difficult and its still streetable.. but it will cost even more to do so in Aus. No aftermarket support and the shipping of all the parts is a biatch.. I can tell you everthing you ever wanted to know about moddin' a 20,21,22R. I've been doing it for umphteen years

those are some high lift cams. I really like the last 2.
But on an otherwise stock engine it would hurt performance. especially if the pistons aren't fly cut. Early 22R's(tall deck) wont like more .450" lift or the valve WILL hit the pistons with over 235* @ .050" lift. Can't remember exactly but the 21R has some kind of dome also. It would need to be fly cut as well. I've had pretty good success with some cams over on this side of the big pond. most are 210-225* and .430-.470"
it mostly depends on what you want from the engine and what your budget is.
