A guy walks into a centrelink office...
|
Fri, 13 February 2004 02:32
|
|
A guy walks into the local Centrelink office, marches straight up to the counter and says, "Hi! I hate being on the dole. I'd really rather have a job." The clerk behind the Centrelink desk says, "Your timing is excellent. We just got a job opening from a very wealthy old man who wants a chauffeur/bodyguard for his nymphomaniac daughter. You'll have to drive around in his Mercedes, but he'll supply all of your clothes. Because of the long hours, meals will be provided. You'll be expected to escort her on her overseas holiday trips. You'll have a two-bedroom apartment above the garage. The starting salary is $200,000 a year". The guy says, "You're bullshitting me!" The Centrelink officer says, "Yeah, well, you started it".
....sorry if it is a repost

Think about what that poor man is going through...
He is at centrelink for a reason, a reason of which he is probably not proud of. He cannot get the assistance he believes he should (i am not making any judgements on wether or not he should), he feels that he cannot provide for his family, to an extent that he cries in public, which most men don't take lightly...
Someone getting kicked in the nuts is misfortune you can laugh at, but sorry if i don't find someone at the lowest point in their life funny...

Haha, it's just a joke.
But your right Squid, Centrelink is a sham. The job agencies that tax payers pay good money for that Centrelink refers people to are even worse. They basically get paid for nothing. They are lazy and do not help you with anything.
It's a vicious cycle.

I am not discussing wether or not centrelink works, or what my beliefs on welfare are!!
The thing that disgusted me is that someone could laugh at another person being at such a low in their life.
That Schopenhauer quote in my last post says it all.

Squid. I see your point but you're assuming that all those points you mentioned are true. He could really be a little bitch who cries over everything, or a million other things that could make a person cry.
And because i dont know every little detail about his life and the situation in which he cried, and i cant be bothered to find out, im going to look at it in the most light hearted way and laugh.
This is not a perfect world (as im guessing you already know) so i see no reason to behave in a "perfect" manner.
The weak die and the strong survive (be it physical or mental), i just wish this was the way always (it seems nowdays the weak cope and the strong get angry), then i wouldnt have to put up with the fuckers i hate. Cause they'd all be dead.
End rant.

From a morality point of view if you are can sleep at night, your right what does it matter? The world is not perfect but if everyone takes that sort of attitude it is only going to get worse, not better.

Why don't we pro-rata all rights on how much tax we pay?
Bottom tax bracket - Can only drive on roads with a speed limit below 50
Second Tax Bracket - Can only travel on Roads with a speed limit below 60
third tax bracket - 80
fourth tax bracket - 100
top tax bracket - all roads
Hey I pay more tax why does everyone else deserve to drive on the roads my taxes pay for??

So wait till your crying - and would like the people around you laughing?
Oh wait, its obvious your not a man. Not a real one anyhow, need to hide behind 'bitches'.
Simple, do onto others as you would like them to do unto you. And NO I'm not a religious man - just basic rules to live by. Obviously you've been too looked after in your life to know what its like to get down. Or too stupid to realise the difference.
Squid, Its not worth trying to explain morals to people after adolescence. They have to see it for themselves. Unfortunately its not until they're on the other side of the pointing finger do they realise need for compassion.

You are so right, I was just about to give up the whole argument, if they can't see compassion that is their loss, as it shows them for shallow people. I just thought that if I pointed out a different look on things that they may have used their intelligence to form their own opinion.
BTW like T APLUS 22 I am not religous, I am not trying to push some religion onto people. Religion and morality don't always go hand in hand!!

I dont know why im continuing either, but i just cant help myself.
My position.
Ive never had to collect the dole (thank god(im not religious either, its just an expression )), but i have had people laugh at me when ive been in an emotionally vulnerable position.
I lived through it, if you cant, well, bad luck, thats life.(or the end of it)
And a simple explination of my view is, IM AN ARSEHOLE.

12 Lines up. A. Read my post again, it contains my answer to that question.
If he was laughing at me, i really wouldnt care. Ive given up caring about what the majority of sheeple in this country think.
7 Lines up. A. It only taskes one person to wreck it for the rest of us, and that has already happened. Its only going to get worse from here untill someone comes up with some miraculous new invention that makes people nice and happy and thinking positive. Because there is no way in hell that people are going to work together towards one goal. The world can never ( well maybe not never,(see 3 lines up)) be perfect for the simple reason that we are all different.
People push their own agendas, which screw up other peoples lives, its a never ending cycle.

After spending a year and a half in CANT-Berra i can understand Squids responses.public servents are referred to as pubes-they are there and you can see them but what purpose do they serve besides annoying you and getting in the way.
they should forget about riki and ring up lawsy hell fix the whole world.
Anyways the poor bloke must be doin it hard by crying at centrelink.i just would have thrown a chair or two over the counter.they are alwayz after avon ladies and pamphlet deliverers
(just a useless post that doesnt need replying as its the JACK talking)
Cheers
