If the car hasn't got many mods just get a daikin standard or if you really want a strong one get the daikin heavy duty. Unless you want to throw heaps of money at a clutch. Depends what you're after...

exedy is the performance branch of dakin...(and dakin australia are all a bunch of braindead tossers as far as im concerned! at least the guys that i was speaking to on the phone anyway)

if the car's stock, you prolly dont need an exedy. if you do a lot of hard launches, and have money to splash around then its probably not a bad idea..

actually, exedy in japan make a lightened flywheel kit that replaces the stocky flywheel which is around 7kg with a 3.9 kg unit. from what i hear this thing is absolute porn!

the kit comes with a clutch as well, so if youre bent on getting an exedy clutch, splash out a little bit extra and get the whole kit so you can do the flywheel at the same time.

good luck with it. Very Happy

I've always used Exedy clutches. Best value for money. Very good clutch, their flywheel is good too.

5me with a double plate clutch?... hmmm, no No No No

just get a good standard one, or if youre bent on drving it hellishly hard, a standard exedy item (uprated pressure plate, perhaps heavier sprung centre)
cheers

Have a Super Heavy Duty Exedy on my Rolla. Because it's still an organic clutch, it is still easy to drive in traffic. Didn't pay for it (bought car with it installed) but it's VERY strong and still easy to live with. Highly recommended. Smile

i bought an adelaide "X-treme clutch" kit for my 4age

LUK disk and LUK pressure plate with a nachi thrt bearing

really really good actually. the box looks so dodgy btu its quite good for the application

i was told its a "rebadged exedy clutch kit"

but the LUK name is a german engineering clutch and brake company

its all good though

yeah. spose i better mention my car and mods.

1989 Nissan Exa. FWD.
RPM Heavy Duty Clutch Kit (mean for NA engines).
t25g turbo.

this clutch is slipping. especially when i'm trying to drag. especially now that this bigger turbo doesn't kick in till 3500rpm. so i'm sure you can understand the power i receive at that range.

i was told i could get a duel plate Exedy clutch kit + flywheel for somewhere around $550 or $590 not installed.

hey, i just rebuilt the 3s, and put an exedy 5 button ceramic in it, ti's great! and anyone who tells u that u can't slip it and can't drive in traffic just has to learn how to control their left leg, i bought the clutch and had all these ppl telling me it was a bad move and i'll never be able to drive the car normally again,

it's fine!

but really great clutch, and in the 185 i can stick a load of power through it off the line and it just grips i'ts great!

so thats a 'yes they are tops ' from me Smile

Yep, but wait till you pull it out again!!! I thought I drove a 4 puck normally and it didn't make a difference, then I pulled it out to discover it was absolutely rooted from the way I had used it. A good learning experience, and the reason I generally head towards full face organic clutches if possible now.

i just put a new friction plate in my gze conversion as the last one had pulled the rivets loose.
looked like it was going too pull through in the future, so i replaced while i had the gearbox on the ground. sooo much easier changing clutches when the engine is out of the car
oh yeah, 165 for a 215mm 4 puck exedy, plate only
88 for a standard plate

it depends how you drive, in my other sprinter, which i changed the t50 for a new/old one, had a peek at the clutch while the box was out. it's a PBR cover with a exedy organic, still has grooves in it. still chirps into second good, i "should" ne nice to this box Laughing
