And so starts Evolution 2 Sat, 28 February 2004 02:15 Go to next message
Well - dropped my Group A motor off today to the engineer - everything appears to be going ahead for the engine rebuild and install ..

he checked the motor over and seems to think its up tot he task of what i want - so alls sweet ( except the no intercooler situation )

Hows this for coincidence - his personal car for running around is a st184 - so he knows exactly waht will need to be done to put it in - HANDY! - plus he's cluey about the 3sgte AND is personal friends with the bate's ( neil and rick )

alls looking promising - a few more weeks of pain and i should have the monster reborn

how is the radiator fluid going? Smell good? look good?

For those youngsters out there listening: the radiator coolant goes in the RADIATOR - not on the back seat.

as some of you know who have been following my saga - i had my intercooler and pump " lost " in freight ..

Well - its pretty much certaint hat the parts were actually pinched somewhere in transit ... no sign has been found of them at all ..

thats no fun for me immediatly but there is some light ..

I got my cash back - thats a start , and the supplier of the parts have disciovered another intercooler and pump in japan - and are attempting to import it asap - and i have first dibs on it ..

They also might have a group A gearbox - which im goign to ask for too ..

So a bit of yay - a bit of boo ..

Just means 2 months minimum of 14 PSI on the Neew motor ..

good chance to run it in

Which supplier was that?

Any supplier who will give money back when parts are lost is a good one by me.

Adelaide jap dismantlers are the guys ive dealt with with getting my group A bits - they have been EXcellent as to supply the parts - which are extremely rare as you guys would know ..

They had to refund ther money - but it was the freight comapny that had to cough up the money after legasl threats made on my behalf by Adelaide Jap..

Ive got nothing against the guys at adelaide jap - they have provided 100% bonafied EXCELLENT service, and id recommend them to anyone seeking frontcuts or parts .

Anyway after all thsi fiasco - ive now seemed to track down 3 of the intercoolers possibly available in the near future ! how ironic is that!

Im 2 months behind scedule - and unable to go to the dubbo toyota nationals - but ill be there with bells on for toymods dyno day - and laying down alot bigger number than last time i hope!!

As before - joel has been offered a seat to come up - but if anyone wants to make the trek - dyno day happens in july - and is a huge turnout for toyota nuts in sydney .. Its great to catch up with the guys who run this club and forum too - all are tops !

So get time off and we'll all roll up - a good showing from victoria would be awesome

Stuart

Sorry to hear Stu about your Cooler getting nicked... if it was my dad's TRD exhaust, I would be jumping up and down like a wild Indian. Happy to hear that you are able to find a replacement Nod
