I'm going to have to answer that with the most annoying answer of all....."it depends". Some flips look hideous, some look good and it depends on what car they are on too.

yeah i figured that might be the answer from a lotta people.
the car is the newer style soarer, with 18" chromies, i havent seen the car YET, but it should be in at the import dealer in a week, so ill have to track down a digital camera for a day and take some piccies,
but yeah, from my impression it was the standard flip with like 4 colours, the whole green, blue, pink, and what ever else there is..
cant wait to check it out tho.

yeah i see that aswell... i guess it would all depend on how the evenly the differant colours are applied,
there is an awesome VL turbo near my place that goes purple, blue then a deep red, and it looks really schmick!

I saw a WRX in Canberra that went pure perfect white for ages then all of a sudden went woosh and turned blue. Looked great.
Also saw a Ser 4 RX7 in Brisbane with that too. How much would this be to paint my Soarer like that?
It's pearl isn;t it?

It would cost you quite a bit! Some of those chameleon paints are over $1000 a litre... plus you need an experienced painter to get a good finish. As for the pearl paints i thought that was just a clear type coat applied over the top?

lol cost would be LOTS!!!
if i get a couple of pics ill be sure to post them up here straight away,
the dealer wants 18,900 cash.... bit odd i thought, and pretty steep. i wasnt really looking to spend THAT much on the next car... but if i like what i see ill snap it up quick smart,
but yeah with the paint, wheels, retrimmed custom leather interior, big stereo. its worth a look... esspecially if its really CLEAN!! and for almost 19k, it would wanna bloody be clean! lol
does anyone know if these cars run an LSD??
i think it is the twin turbo model.

Just don't park the car in a car park because these days know one has any respect for other car's (eg trolleys, door dings) and it cost's alot to repair damage on chameleon paint jobs

The Chameleon jobs I dont like are the ones that go a nasty brown between Blue & Green, a real tirn off, I'd also rather spend the money on something else, but if you've got the $$$ then why not

I got quoted $690 to paint and blend the rear panel on the Soarer once the back is fixed after the crash in the standard white pearl. I am starting to think about painting the entire car now if it doesn't cost the earth. What kinds of prices should I expect? Ball park? $2000.......$3000.....$4000....more?
I don't really need a show car quality job....just look nice and fresh. Am thinking about going a slightly different white. Maybe a different colour pearl. Is this a wise choice?

Soarers had the option of LSD. It was never standard in any model, whether it was TT or not. I've got a non-LSD TT Soarer
(not for long tho)

Most of you are getting chamelion paint jobs mixed up with pearls.... chamelion paint is also defective in nsw like the annoying colors that go from dark blue to yellow. These have become defective because in a police chase they cant tell what color it is. I haven't made this up my mate got defected for his silvia because of the color.

there is a HQ and WB near me that have these paints and they are awesome
i also saw a VH wagon at a panelbeater near me, it was a basic red but when i walked past it i saw the "reflection" of the sun in the bonnet and the "reflection" are went a brilliant blue/purple
turns out he just out a SHIT load of blue tint in the clear coat, a basic chamealeon paint for fuck all cash.
yes there are some cars that it looks hideous on, like a flogged and raped ford courier near my work

Yeah pearl is a lot more common than chameleon. Pearl is standard on lots of cars.
Mine is pearl white with silver I think and sparkles all over like glitter. Looks mad in the right light. I was wondering how much a respray in that would cost? Seei'ng I have to paint 1/2 the car now anyway after the crash i have been thinking paint the entire car. The side that isn't crashed just happened to be the side that has the most scratches
Was thinking about going white with a different pearl though becasue the silver pearl looks a little dark when parked next to other white cars and in the shade.

That's kinda stupid IMHO. The colour of your car being limited 'cuz it makes it harder for "The man" to keep us down. Pah. Does it make the car less safe? No. Does it cover the licence number? No. Does it shoot lazer beams into the heads of general passers by, killing them without mercy? No.
and 4DaDrift, I agree. If it's illegal the products should at least be sold in different sections, and marked "Not legal for street use" in big bold lettering.
Anyway, I think chameleons can look great! And I also think chameleons look SHIT! Depends on the job, car, and what specific chameleon colours. The Purple/Green mix that you see everywhere is really boring.

imho if it's just same all over it looks.. interesting but boring.. once you've seen it once it loses it's effect..
theres a commonwhore and a Vitara!! near my place.. they both are boring now
what i think would look very snazzy and not grow old so quick would be white or black with red/orange/yellow flames that change with direction!!! kinda like the old hot rod style, but more dynamic mmmm but what if it really caught fire
