the 18RC and the 18RG both of the housing won't work with the 18RGE. The RGE has a short housing with three sensors in it. It also has a thermal switch. I can send pics if you like.

sbyder i think if you go into autobarn they maybe able to order one in in a few days. or supercheap or repco. most of them stock the upper thermostat housing part for many makes and i would say they would be able to order the right one in. you may even have to adapt one off a differnt motor.
if you need a water pump i have one in my garage to suit the twin pulley 18R-GEU not the housing just the front part witht he impellor. it isnt corroded or anything i just replaced it when i rebuilt my motor.

Do you just need the section at the top or do you need that bit that the three sensors screw into as well? I broke my top section and got a new one from Auto One. Can't remember what it was off though. I think it was a Capri or an Escort. Something old. It's slightly different in that it points more to the passener side than the standard one.

ahh ok thanks, but my bottom bit where the sensors are, is partly corroded(u cant fix that can u), so i need a new one. Its the bit where the secondary water outlet is(the small one facing the radiator under the main/big one).
Anyone else know where i can get one???
Need it in the next 3 weeks, so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Ben

Mate, an EFI one would be pretty rare. I've got one on my dead 18R-GEU. I'd sell it to you, but I'm still deciding whether to rebuild or not.

Sbyder i think you may be able to get the lower housing fixed if everything else fails. you can re do alloy with a tig welder and then grind it out with a die grinder to the original specs.
try going to an engineer. ARE in brendale do alloy welding on radiators they may be able to fix the housing.

I have one already, looks in reasonably good nik too. I just need two of the sensors. I have one of them, has two black vacume lines (looks like) coming out of it. Not sure what it is for to tell the truth.
