Moral Question

If you are fairly sure a toyota camry in good condition has been dumped ie
Same place for three days in non residential area
parked in awkward position
parked on road to transfer station
windows wound down and doors unlocked
damage on front passenger side
Should you tell everyone about it so whoever can swarm all over it for spare parts, or should you not say anything in case it's broken down and the owners coming back.

Treat it as you would want it treated if it was your car and it had been stolen or broken down.

Smash the funk out of it, take out all the windows, jump on the bonnet and roof, kick in every panel, take all the good spares off it, take of the rims and drop it on the discs and then yeah... Fun and games over... ...
But yeah, have to agree with Shane on this one... It's only been three days... Wait and see if it's still there in a while... Or until it gets the green sticker on it...
What kinda area is it parked in???

No residential for miles, sort of all business units and a bit of bushland.

Call the Cops. Perhaps you could tell them you want it if it isn't claimed?
I think you'll find the cops will try to find the owner, and if they can't find him/the car has been dumped, then they may let you keep it and strip it for parts.

Call the cops.
I believe in karma.
Would'nt it be funny if it was a Channel 7 Today,Tonight stunt, to catch people striping what they can off the car. It's been done before.

Well, this is the way I see it.
1. If it was broken down, the windows would be up and the car locked. And frankly, it wouldn't even be left for more than one day out in the sticks. It would have been towed pretty much straight away back home or to a repairer.
2. If it was stolen, I'd never want to see it again, so I'd be doing the original owners a favor by towing it to my house to give it a new good home as spare parts or a restoration.

they should be able to track down the owner via the chassis number/engine number at your local RTA ..
if its open - get the number and give em a call to see if its been reported stolen ..
