putting boost gauges into air vents

have seen a few pics of early celicas with the boost gauges in the airvents on the far right near the doors, how do people get them in there etc ?

Pull out the swivelling ball thingo (pops out the back of the dash), & chop out the vents inside of it, then it's a perfect size to shove in a 2 5/8" guage. Then you have the added bonus of being able to adjust the angle it faces fairly easily.

the clock is also a good place to hide small boost guages - specially in the RA23/28/40s
is nice to have ventilation...

I havn't actually done it myself, I've just seen it done.
I chose to keep my vent, & replaced the oil pressure & alternator warning lights with a boost guage in my car, as I have an oil pressure gauge where the clock was.
