thanks for the comments guys...

that post is little out of topic since it was copied from a post to another forum.. lol... i know, im lazy...

the car has the usual stuff like pedders suspension, i'm getting a LCD dash called megaview which will display parameters from the ecu such as air temp, coolant temp, and many others. I can also make changes to any confirguration of the ecu like that aswell. Smile

It was resprayed and engine rebuilt by previous owner a few years back and lived in garage until i bought it and registered it. some one before that owner did the suspension.

Damn, i really should get new oil pressure sender aswell... thats WAY over due.

other things which need fixing include the diff center and interior.

a good exhuast would probably help aswell.

Cheers
Chris

What work has been done to the engine? Cams etc.?
Nice colour I likey.
what were the costs involved in installing the megasquirt ecu (ie sensors etc) I have an 18R-GEU that I'd like to have the megasquirt wired to for a dyno run.
any power figures (guesstamations)

Yep like that colour. Cool

I'm pretty sure the engine has stock internals. The previous owner did the rebuild, not sure what compression pistons he put it either. I dont feel like pulling it apart to find out lol. cams are 88250, head is 88210... not the best combination i know, but it goes ok. its got a set of average looking extractors, and a crap exhaust.

rob - the tyres are 195R14 60 profile ... the wheels are 7 inch wide i _think_ ...don't know what the offset it, but its pretty huge.

Cheers

The megasquirt will run pretty much anything.

have you looked at the thread going in the Tech section about megasquirt, a lot of info in there.

I bought it as a kit, pcb and components, soldered it together.

It would be pretty much the same to setup as any other efi computer i'd imagine. I've only ever done this one though.

The megamanual can be found at www.megasquirt.info it is very comprehesive manaual. with sections for assembly, wiring, injectors, etc etc.

Cheers
Chris

hey chris, havn't heard from you for a while. It's cameron here, i used to drive the green ra40 in Hobart, i have an ae92 hatch now. You're car is looking tough as, sounds like you've done a good job with the mega squirt setup.

yeh ive seen your posts about your imported car when you got it.

My car is going ok, it needs some serious thought into wheels and suspension, at the moment its a bit stiff for these tassie streets and a little crazy in the wet.

if i can get a job it will be:
-brake upgrade
-bushes
-springs
-shocks
-new cams for 18rg

at the moment i often go out to baskerville to watch some mates like jonny. one day i would be keen to get out there, at the moment can't afford the risk of breaking my daily driver car.

cheers

Re: ra40 megasquirted 18rg Sat, 06 November 2004 23:36 Go to previous message

yeh,

i didn't have any trouble at all. Mine almost ran first kick, i just had to replace a couple of fouled plugs.

The only difference with your setup is the electonic ignition. becasue im running pionts with a jaycar ignitor.

Hopefully soon i will get an electonic setup going and i might beable to help you more.

good luck with it

cheers
Chris
