Thanks mate, it still has a lot of work do to. The top picture was taken before it was lowered. It's all time and money. I'd like to get it out on the track!

Well it's 99% completely rewired courtesy of Gary at Eddies Auto-electrical. It looks so much cleaner than previously and I can now trust it to be entirely reliable in the electrical department. The air-conditioner is running better than standard after many new relays and fuses were added, along with some modifications to the compressor fittings and power steering sensors.

It's going into Fours N More soon to have the Torsen LSD put in and most importantly the gearbox and diff seals looked at. Later down the track the MicroTech will be modified to allow for an idle device to allow for the a/c and p/s and also to maintain a standard idle on cold start up. On the other hand there is no problem with it at the moment, even when the above are operating. It currently idles at 1000RPM when warm and 700RPM with the a/c on.

I have found some JZA70 front calipers from a friend and will be eventually buying some DBA MA70 slotted front rotors along with it. However, some 16" or 17" wheels will have to be found to clear the larger disc's.

It may be a while before Exhaust Technology can put on my Hybrid inter-cooler with stainless steel piping though.

Unfortunately it has overheating problems at the moment in very hot weather. I think I'll have to look into a thicker aluminum racing radiator. Sad

You should only need 16's, as that is what the std MA70's are so they should fit.

Arn't the JZA70 calipers the same as MA70's ?

Cheers

Yes you are right bbaacchhyy, but If I can find 17" standard JZA80 wheels they will look a lot better, fill the arch of the wheel space and be pimpen! However, 16" will do as they are hard to find. They will also raise the car slightly higher which I want.

There are variations of sizes of MA70 rotors and possibly calipers. One variation is the same as the JZA70. I am actually getting them from a JZA70 though (thanks Caelum).

How will 16" wheels raise the car? The overall diameter should be the same mate.

I recently added an oil cooler and remote oil filter kit. There are also pictures of my MA70 brakes which will go on as soon as I can find a set of 16" or 17" wheels.

HKS_TRD: Thanks mate, who are you, and what do you drive? Smile
I work Friday and Saturday nights, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it. I'd like to though.

The car seems to be running very well since I put my undertray back on and had the oil cooler installed.

The only other thing I've noticed is that the power steering is making hellish noises, clunking and cracking sounds on full lock at low speed.

I'm dying to get my intercooler and brakes on with bigger wheels though. Has anyone got any Supra or Soarer 16" wheels for sale?

That is one staunch 7M Dan. I thought it would be up around the 300kw mark with those mods? Very nice! What does your car weigh? Would be good to go on a cruise with you.

OK, I guess it wasnt you that I was speaking to at the last Toymods cruise starting point at harbourtown:-) Whoever it was did own or had owned a Soarer. 300+kw at the wheels is my goal and everything is there to do it but the hi flow turbo is at its limit to make 250kw at the wheels. I have a wastegate and manifold waiting to go on, just gotta decide on what turbo to go with. Nice conversion on the Soarer don't think many people have done that yet, I've always liked those early Soarers myself

Nah actually it was just a good power tune by Tim Possingham. He really does know his MicroTech's.

I put the Hiperboost controller on afterwards, so imagine how it goes now.

i see why it looks so peaky now.. urs goes up in increments of 20 where as my dyno goes up in 10
for the same spacing
this was mine before hiperboost squashed to give the same incremented curve as yours
http://members.optushome.com.au/jag7799/squashy.jpg
just looking at it.. mine eclipses yours at every point at the same speed..but ur curve is a lot nicer and doesent have the weird stupid hump mine had
how many psi was it on?
i was on 11

The new idle control device is in, so the car now idles like factory at cold start, and when warm. It also idles up with the airconditioner. Courtesy of Brenton from Fours N More.

The JZA70 Torsen LSD is now in courtesy of Boss Racing Differentials: 8387 0178.

After taking out the diff myself, I had to get Steve at Japanese Motorsport to put the new one in. I ended up dropping all 50kgs of the thing on my hand in the process.

The car now handles a lot better. I've also purchased a set of Cusco fully adjustable coilovers which will go in soon.
