Can a TD04HL-15T(Mitsubishi) be a good option for a 3T-GTE?
The turbo is from a SAAB 93 or 95 Aero.

Hi Johnny, anything has got to be better than the standard CT20!

Most people looking for a cost effective turbo upgrade for the 3T-GTE tend to opt for the CT26 or a T28.

I am not too sure on how similar it is, but I have seen a TD04L (off a 99 Subaru WRX) go on a 4A-GTE that was good for around 200hp (150kw) at the wheels.

My choice for best value for money would be finding a good second hand T28 ball bearing turbo from a S15 200SX for less than $1000 (Australian). If you could get the Saab turbo for a lot less than that, it might be worth investigating the Saab TD04HL-15T further.

I hope this helps,
3T-GTE

(By the way, your post is entitled a 4T-GTE, was that just a typo, or do you actually have one of these extremely rare engines?)

Thanks for reply!
I'd just buy a new TD04 for my 3T-GTE (yes it was a typo).
I'm not looking for a lot of power, just stock or a little bit more.
A stock SAAB 95 aero have 230Hp with a 2.3l engine(I think).

The mitsi TD04HL is a small turbo, same as what is on the 1800 Lancer GSR's.
There aren't any upgrades that can be done to them that are worth it to these turbos.
If you used a TD05H from a VR-4 or EVO that would be a better starting point and they can be modded with TD06 & Garrett parts to support upto 500hp.

That sure is cheap! Here in Finland we hear lots of rumours about very cheap turbos in Sweden, especially Saab turbos from Saab dealers.
