Hi all,
Would a t04e with 0.48 exhaust housing suit a 1g-gte?
Cheers..

Its actually a 0.48 T3 exhaust housing..
It already had 0.63 housing which aparently was too laggy

i had a gz20 soarer but just standard turbos. IMO i would think the .48 would be more suitable. My 1g really seemed quite laggy so I would try to stick with the smaller A/R when going to something the size of a t04.

I would have to concur on the .63. The .48 will be to small to be able to be efficient up in the high boost range 20psi + and will more than most likely run out of puff before you run out of revs. Belive it or not there is a actual science to turbocharger housing sizing. To small a housing you will cause back pressure in the manifold and hamepering performance and turbo spool up, to big a housing and you will cause a pressure drop in the zorst housing and the same result will occur. I word of adivice, ask around to the ppl that have used this this type of turbo on 2l motors and see what they would say about the housings they used and the way the car came on boost and went.
