I'm pretty sure you can still get the folding grille new from toyota, $1700 and it yours, not too sure but i think that includes the actuator and all hoses.

Sorry guys - To be more specific, the letterbox grille. I heard they can be bought new for $238.
Can somebody explain exactly what this 'folding type' is/does? Not sure if I've seen one but sounds interesting.

Folding type has a slot in it to let air in, and it uses either a switch or the thermostat to flip it open and closed.

Ok. That's great. Now I just have to find out which grille it is I want. Dunno what the difference between Zenki and Kouki grilles is..... Can anyone tell me which one is the letterbox grille I'm after???? It's the one with foglights(?) on either side and a thin opening on the lower side but is mostly just flat.

part number is for Kouki Levin: 53100-12270, superceded by 53100-12271
try that.. good luck tho...a lot of jap parts wont come up on toyota australia's computer.

if not, i can ask at my old work...(toyota dealer...hence me having part numbers available...and pics )
they're pretty good. price will be the hardest thing, if the part hasn't been sold here before. they wont know the price until it gets here, and they'll prolly ask for a deposit.
you could always buy a secondhand one...
the only problem you'll find is, you'll have to dodgy something up to get it to fit. the mounting points are different.
or you could buy some kouki headlights as well...then you'll be good

best option would be to get the parts from the States, even though the Levin stuff wasnt standard there i have seen a number of new parts for sale over there and prices were reasonable.

I can get any grill type that people want from japan, along with most other AE86 parts (except panels and other big parts)
I have already sourced a levin grille for someone from toymods, and these are usually available in Japan all the time, but a few weeks is needed to have them sent over.
email me with requests, (especially grills).
if you can, include a pic of what you are after, other wise it makes it very hard for me to find the right part.
