The UZS143 Aristo has a V8 power plant with an All wheel drive set up. Does anyone know if the V8 can be swapped for the 2JZ-GTE and still keep the all wheel drive so you could have something similar to the GTR Skyline but with a Toyota.

they only made 4500 of them so getting one might be hard. if the 1/2j auto box is similar to the v8 auto box it might be possible just to swap bellhousings & x-members to fit the motor.

however the center diff will be controlled by the v8 ecu i suspect (unless a seperate computer for it) so it may not work properly

The front axle also passes right throught the sump. Will require much fabrication to get working on a JZ series engine.

Maybe you could read up a little on turbocharging V8s, then ask pertinent questions.

That sounds like a killer plan.

Have you got one of these things? Do you even plan on buying one? I suspect not so why even post.

Just for a short while I'll host some pics of a 1UZ & 4WD gearbox.

That's my box, arriving here in a few days.
I might be using it in the 4WD Corolla rally car, not 100% sure yet.

Trust you to be doing something like that Bill Laughing

What sort of grunt can the Lexus transfer case handle ? I know they are limiting the Holden one to 270kW for the HSV versions, and they are working on making the gears stronger to allow for a manula version to be trailled....

How is the Fraser going ?

Cheers

Yes, big thanks to Grega for taking the pics.

No idea how much torque it can take, we'll have to look at it when it gets here.
The Fraser is coming along nicely, whould be a runner in a couple of months, then rego shortly after I hope.

Must admit, I AM somewhat fascinated by the concept - Bill, do make a point of pulling that thing to bits and taking some snaps of the innards of it to show me, won't you.... Evil or Very Mad Just be interesting to see if it compares in any way to the Nissan hardware, given that I doubt they'd exactly go making such a limited number of the things entirely from scratch...

Yeah, I'll take pics when I see it next.
I'm leaving Aus tomorrow morning, perhaps for three or four months though. Sad
