hi all
i asked a brake specialist at the motorsport show a little while ago what my best plan of attack would be to get '28 to stop better.
i told him i was gonna get dba slotted rotors and bendix metal king pads, he said bendix are the worst you could use, and would not stop the car much better. he suggested go for a realy good set of pads, and if it does warp or damage the current rotors, then go for slotted dba's.
i'm just asking what are the good brands? i only really knew about bendix, i'm looking to spend up to $300 for the pads (the money i was gonna spend on the rotors + pads) so any suggestions? (preferably available in aus, but would like to know any suggestions)
cheers

Ferodo pads are the worse you can use. While I don't care much for Bendix standard pads, their metal kings are a good pad for hard street use and in my experience do not dust up much or squeak.
Providing you can get pads to suit a RA28, Padgid, Endless and EBC are great pads, but as you buy higher performance pads their first up cold performance will drop off.
Rather than DBA slotted rotors and expensive pads, have you considered doing the Corona strut / Pug vented rotor / Hilux 4 pot brake upgrade for your car ?
I did it to my RA23 and braking performance improved 70% over standard.
Don't ask, use Search on this forum.
This upgrade has been covered a zillion times, and its worth reading all the threads to become a full bottle on it.
Mitch.

this is a good point, at the moment i only do motorkanas/kanacrosses/autocrosses and will do some sprints and hillclimbs later. all these are short track time, not really much time for the brakes to heat up

EBC do good pads and come in a range of temp ratings and thus street/track bias. Not cheap but good.
Hawk pads (carbon metallic) last time I got some were cheaper than EBC but good. Very very good.

EBC greenstuff will put you through the windscreen cold and get better warm.
