What kind of Toyotas are they??? The rear shots make me think it's an AE82 Rolla cause of the lights... But the front shots with the circle lights??? Hmmm...

Bit of Starlet education for you (very popular car here in NZ, especially the RWD ones).

1979 round headlights
1980-82 square headlights, park lights in metal bumper
1983-84 square headlights, park lights beside headlights, plastic bumpers, tailgate comes down between taillights

Engines ranged from 1000cc to 1300cc K series motors with a 4 or 5 speed box. Obviously go much better when you get brutal and squeeze in a 3T-GTEU....

Twisted Evil Shocked Shocked

From what i have heard it is very hard to convert the 4E-FTE to RWD (which is the real fun part of these cars). If it is possible it would certainly help keep the weight down and maintain the handling balance. Had to shift my 3T-GTEU about 3 inches through the firewall to help balance the extra weight, especially with a W55 hanging off the back.
The EP70 would probably be a better candidate for this conversion, came with the E series motor standard and I believe it is lighter than the later EP80's and EP90's.

Now I see the legend of the Starlet. I've got a pic of one in the same MOTOR mag as the AE86 (nov '83) and w/ Sprinter clover leaf wheels and it looks... bad. It was annoucing the new shipment of the starlets to NZ. I think the wheels making it look really crap.

Pity we never did get them, they do seem to have a huge rally following overseas...oh well, we did get the AE86 by some miracal cough! bathurst! cough! cough!

I linked pics from one of our domestic rally web pages. They are unaltered - no Photoshop magic.

Here are more samples on hard cornering hazards to further assure pics being unaltered.
