today i embarked on a project...

...that will probably take up a LOT of my time. I sold my 4age to a member of this forum as i am soon buying a 3rd generation 4agze motor which will recieve some modifications in the form of adding horsepower and reliability, This motor will see a large amount of track time, and side wasy so i will be adding baffels to the sump, oil drains etc etc along with oil cooling looked at.
I will stick with supercharger for now, fit some larger cams, decent exhaust made for top end torque, hopwefully this will provide torque accross the mid to top end of the power band. Im not after a high hp beast. just something more then what my 100 kw 4age put out.
Then, im also looking at significantly changing my suspension (again) so that i have larger brakes, better feel/handling etc.
looking to be a few months before its back on the road at least... But when it is. watch your local drift track as i will soon be travelling aust to compete in events!

coilover bits and pieces for conversion, any brand will be ok
FC3S brake adapter bracket
MUGEN EG civic front discs (just samller than fc3s disc but will fit straight up UNDER A 14 INCH RIM and are vented and slotted.. and lighter..)

Good luck Simon! We all know that things like this take time - dunno how you'd cope though. I went crazy in Sydney after a month of not driving around.
That said, I reckon it'd be worth it in your end because my impression is that most drift competition judges don't know how much harder it is to drift an underpowered AE86 than a Skyline / Silvia. I am sure you'd get the attention when you can heavily smoke your wheels mid-drift though a corner ...
As for me? I'll still stick with the N/A 4AG formula until I get somewhere - Shano's car still impresses me in its stock form but it's good to see all the drift AE86's going on with new power upgrades.
Shane's hoping to have his new motor with HKS 272 cams, small port head, 7 rib block etc all in his car for the next drift comp up here in late June. That'd be one angry motor for sure!
