Great to hear it's back, look forward to seeing it run at Willowbank Smile

Sorry to rain on the parade, though:

Don't drive an unregistered car. Without the CTP portion of your rego, you could quite easily screw up the rest of your life paying someone's medical bills. Also, I know a fair bit about the ins and outs of insurance, and shagged if I'd ever offer insurance to someone who had been booked driving an unregistered car.

Hell, even driving without TPPD (at least) or Comprehensive insurance is a f_cked idea. I know someone who had an at fault accident - rear ended someone and pushed them into someone else. Effectively wrote off his car, and caused around $10,000 of damage to the other two cars. All this has to be paid out of his pocket and then he had to buy a new car.

I was also involved in an accident once - in a car I thought was insured, and turned out not to be. That cost me $7k and I'm still paying for it now.

This is brought to you by someone who has been there, done that.

I bet it goes harder than you dreamed!
Cool
If it's on stock boost than they do feel like they're holding back a little, esp over 5000 rpm (ie revs out but feels a bit lifeless). Wind it out in each gear though (if you're caning it), coz when you change it drops straight back into the sweet spot.

Are you still running the std MZ10 fuel pump?

Exhaust shop in a couple of weeks, then off to ARE with a stack of money and some lube. The car will then come back to my place (currently at Carindale) for the final touches.

Expect that realistically it will be October or November.

I haven't fitted the CT26 for a performance upgrade, but only so that the engine will fit. I'd anticipate that the response & outright power will both suffer a bit.

That said, it's a completely different kettle of fish. My car is live axle, automatic, has different suspension/wheels/tyres and will have an exhaust that (unfortunately) will be somewhat compromised due to the steering box.

I am looking into a rack & pinion conversion to fix this, though.

I'm still waiting for the mechanic to get some free time to do mine. Last night on the way home from work I thrashed the nuts of it, the clutch must be glazed, it slips so badly, you have to feather the throttle in first and second to actually get it to grip. Still goes hard, even with a hole in the cooler piping the size of a 50c piece.
