i'd say it sounds like worn synchro's
just wait till it starts popping out of gear...that becomes interesting :/

the car i was driving for a while ran out of syncromesh, but we euthanised it before it became a big problem.
can you buy it in bottles to top up the gearbox with?
i think i saw it in autobarn next to the blinker fluid.

the little blue cone bit to the right of the blue gear fits into the collar part...thus spinning both at the same speed before the gear fully engages
or something to that effect...i think

Synchros will work less effectively if the oil is too viscous. Double de-clutching is a good way to overcome the issue (easy with practise).
May I ask why you are so averse to being given directions to use the search function? Do you think that someone else should search and then hand the answer to you?
The answers to all things automotive have been published a million times in as many publications. Most of my knowledge (precious little that there is) has been gleaned from reading and having a go and asking people who are in the know.

i just needed to know whether my gearbox has abit of problem or because its due to the cold weather..
i'm sure using the search method is good. But just to find out opinions on what people would like to say as we all know new members register each day (or at least)...
if a forum is all about searching back the old threads...where's the fun then? do i only post up a new topic when other areas HAVE NEVER been covered before?
as u can see i post this topic at 7.33am as i'm still awake trying to finish up my assignments..too much of reading till i cant think properly...so that's why i just post up this thead without doing a FULL search...
i did found out about double clutching (never knew it existed) when i search from syncromesh ...but i dont think it cost u anything to explain what problem u think i might have with my gearbox will ya?
cyberpunk: thanks for the information...i'm sure everyone learns better when they are actually teaching..
