Stock it has 160hp at the engine, this is usually around 85 to 90kw at the wheels in a TA22 or similar.
You can get good power from these engines and they are very strong. The CT20 is a crappy turbo and it lacks a blow off valve and intercooler in standard form.
I have 145kw at the wheels from my 3T GTE and others have similar or better. Yellorolla has around 195kw last I heard, which would be heaps of fun.

Cheers,
Simon

Hi DVS_ONE,

You might find this thread interesting:

I think there are a few other similar threads you might find through the Toymods search tool.

When you say with a T04 turbo, what other modifications would be done? I would say that it would be virtually impossible to get anything more than 200rwkw out of standard 3T-GTE internals (although Jason may be able to prove me wrong).

How much horsepower would make you happy?? Note that is around 300kw at the flywheel / or around 400hp at the flywheel.. which is normally enough for many people!
This would be good for around a 12.5 sec quarter mile with around a 185km/h trap speed in a TA-22. - Would you be happy with that?

Sure putting on a bigger turbo makes it capable of more power, but anything more than 200rwkw would require spending around a grand on some forged pistons at least.

How much would you be willing to spend?
Cheers,
3T-GTE

I killed a standard piston with 20PSI through the CT26. I would not "NOT" assemble one of these engines for more than about 15PSI with stock pistons (we did run a bit more with the CT20 and the stockers although it is a piss weak little pump).

I reckon that 200rwkW is a very short lived engine if it is on stock pistons.

Power figure before we broke the stock unit was 220rwhp at about 5000rpm.

Std bottom end with forged pistons - who knows?

They have potential then?

Potential? hell yeah!

Check out how much power that Paradise racing is making.

Horsepower is ultimately the result of torque x rpm / 5251.
I rev mine frequently to 8k or there abouts. How much power can you make by 8k? I reckon lots, but it is a "how long is a piece of string?" scenario.
