driven plenty of sports cars, nicest handling of them all was the 200sx, lots of feedback and very forgiving.

I voted supra, but that was before I read your requirements
for that price, you cant really beat a 200sx.

For that price. R32 GT-R. I've been told they're around the $18k mark now that they're over 15 years old (and can be brought in cheaply).

I vote 200sx
the z32's look nice, but they are a money pit in repairs and what not.

the only thing that stopped me doing this is that i think it would be a massive mechanical headache, all the parts are expensive, i mean the engines in used condition sell for like 7k+. of course its a more desirable option than a 200 but if theres any mechanical dramas it will put a MASSIVE hole in your pocket. 200 is also newer/nicer inside, and sr20 ect is much more widley supported. id be sketchy about how cheap a 18k GTR would actually end up being. (although its tempting isnt it)

Think GTS-T

I voted 200sx - coz you'll be able to afford a nice one, with change from $20k for a turbo-back exhaust + hi-flow cat. I don't think a neat S14 would be out of the question.....
Why didn't the GTS-T make the list? An early build R33 series II will come in at just on $20k, complianced and ready to go. One of the guys at Carizma was telling me just a couple of weeks ago that they have quite a nice one for a whisker over $20k in stock. All that capacity, so much tuning potential, so many revs, interior space, comfort......mmmmmmmmmm.....GTS-TTTTttttttttt

200SX - cheapest for modifying - parts are easy to get ..
if you like rallying - get a st185 group A and tinker it a bit

for that money you could get a carlos sainz GRP A GT4 celica, although it is 4WD, but still a great car for the money, saw one on the w/e for $17k with minor mods i think there was also one on casales.

Man all those cars are sweet, take your pick really
Might be hard to find a good nick WRX for anything less than 19 or 20 grand.
I'm going the GT4 myself so that's what I voted for.

Wow this is an old thread but iwas intrigued by it. What car u end up getting? 200's are the bomb but does anyone know where i can find specs about it. specifically how fast they are, ie times for the quarter and the 0-100 time?
