Hi Peoples!
Please let me know if im posting this in the wrong place but im not sure where to post my Qs.
My first Q is this: -
Im looking in te for sale section at diffs and you guys are always talking bout diff ratios and what not. now i know what the ratios mean and stuff but how do i determine what is good for me? higher ratios are good for what? and vice versa for low ratios?
My second Q is: -
Where is a good place to get my TA22 wired up? the whole wiring system is there and all converted for the TA but lying on the floor and i wouldnt know where to start to piec it together so i wanted some rcommendations for places that have done this and are good priced or who can re wire the whole thing from scratch? also any idea on price for this?
thanks guys

A low ratio i.e. closer to 1.1 will make a good high way gear, where as a gear that is futher away from 1.1 will be a good tourque, acceleration ratio. Thats the long and short of it.
example with my wagon, its was reving to hard at 110kph with the 4.1:1 ratio however it took of hard as, now with the 3.5:1 ratio it cruises nicely however still takes off well.
As for knowing what you need experiment is one way, the other is to check out the donor cars diff ratio, look at what type of motor you are using and what your 5th gear ratio is and look at the diff ratio. You would want to have them close to a factory car as this will bring you out pretty close to where you want to be.
I'm in a hurry I could explain it a little better with more time.
