I don't know the answer but I would go and find someone who has an engine bay that you like (similar to your setup) and copy what they have done and maybe change a couple of things.

that is what I plan to do Smile

that is a mess!

try re running / untangling the main messes to straighten them out so that they are not so bunched up.

then you can go:

1. SUPER TIGHT ARSE

Involves simply covering the wads of wiring in electrical tape
Or cable ties just to bunch em up.

2. NOT A RICH MAN

Buy plastic conduit .... this stuff is available from most auto shops (super cheap auto1 etc.) and is flexible plastic ribbed conduit that has a split in it lengthways. (bout $15-20 for about 8-10 metres)

simply push the split onto the wires and it will snap around them. Leaving only a few pieces of conduit to be seen as aposed to XXXX number of stray wires.

3. IF I WANTED I COULD BUY UR ARSE!

Park at a work shop.
Walk inside reception.
Throw keys and money on counter and repeat after me:

"I'm lazy ... and am way too rich .... hide the wires please peasant..."

LOL

Nathan

If your wiring works then you're off to a good start.

To clean it up you could find any spot where multiple bunches of wires run the same way and buncle them together (eg across the firewall above the exhaust). CAREFULLY cut off whatever tape is there and pack them all together into one tube of split loom and retape.

I'm in the process of doing it at the moment, and there is no easy answer.

You could try doing something like this... unless of course you want it totaly hidden.

http://ira11y.qnix.com.au/Wiring/Wiring001.jpg

http://ira11y.qnix.com.au/Wiring/Wiring002.jpg

http://ira11y.qnix.com.au/Wiring/Wiring003.jpg

this is tube stitched heat sheild, its not cheap to buy, cost me about $100 but then I primarily did it this way to keep heat of the loom from the extractors. I actually cut the stitching for the one on the main loom and sewed in a velcro edge so i can get to it whenever i need to.

This is a pic from my old car. Alternator is circled in red.
My old car ran a 4ac crank pulley, water pump pulley and 4ac alternator.

Looks like yours is a 4ac alternator too going by the skinnier belt. I can tell you thats its not a 4age alternator becuase it doesnt look anything like mine.

what's that cylinder thingy (yellow and dark greyish) located at the firewall ??

what are you referring to? i cant see what your talking about?
