Hello, does anyone have some good/bad experiences with digital cameras? Looking for something in the near future, would be good to mount in the car on track days etc.
So yeah, just after some recommendations. Seems there are heaps out there under the 1k mark.
Cheers

Dunno about now, but I bought a Canon IXUS 4 some time late last year.
Haven't had a problem with it, and I've dropped it on brick a few times.
Does 3 min vids (only 320x240 max qual tho )
but 4.0 Megapixel
And 3 choices of JPEG compression to try and save space.
I dunno what the current going price is (I paid $850 I think), or what the current replacement model is, but I do recommend it.
That said, I think "Les" posted this about 4 mothns ago, search away and ye shall seek.

I think he's referring to DV cameras...
I have a Panasonic one bought about 3 years ago. Approximately the size of 2 audio cassette covers glued together (ie. very small). Quality is unparalleled. I have a FireWire card in my PC so I transfer video directly for editing and writing to DVD without any loss in quality. Highly recommended.
No idea what models are available at the moment, but they just seem to be getting smaller & cheaper every day.
