i'm not familiar enuf with their music
but there is that one song, 'lonely little edge of seventeen'
or wutever
i can't remember the wurds of the others

Finally picked up Meshuggah - Chaosphere today...wasn't exactly sure what to expect but it has got a very heavy metal/scandinavian metal kind of feel about it. In the energy stakes is right up there, but they lose out a bit with regards to melody and timing at points...might take a few listens to get into it but it's certainly pretty sick! Thanks for the heads up (whoever it was who gave me the heads up).
Ahh - nice heavy riffs

I have to say, the vocals really are a weak link...Meshuggah have got some great creative rhythms, using little off-beats and plenty of good music in that regard...but as soon as the vocals start I switch off almost immediately. The timing (as in coherence) isn't always there either, they are fairly tight but I guess I'm hard to please in that regard If it was live I'd accept it no problems, but on an album where they can take a billion takes it's a bit odd???
Of course, no band I've ever played in has been anywhere near that level (and I'm no great musician either) so I say, yeah, whatever it's heavy and fun
