Laughing of all the write offs only one was technically my fault

the rest i got paid out for... you gotta love manipulating the system.

my last write off i hit a 60yr old lady on the rear driver side at 140k/h, sent her car bout 5m in the air,2 360deg turns and she ended up on the other side of the road. NOW i see no humor in what happened but she was at fault cause she was coming out of a side street and didnt give way

pretty much all accidents were like that and NOT cause i lost control or anything like that...

Hi,

Crikey - you freaks! How'd you get to own so many cars??? How do you afford it?

I'm prolly twice your age and have only a few in my life...

1 - EH Holden (blew up the old 179 motor and put in a 186S motor, then blew it up going down Bulli Pass) Car rusted away and sold for $100. Hehehe, it got stolen and burnt out a week after I sold it.
2 - Valiant Charger 770 (with 265 Hemi) Nice car. Wish I still had it. Sold it.
2a - Had a very brief affair with a Ford Landau
3 - TA22 Celica (bought from sale of the Charger) Great little car - went 4ever and always went well.
4 - RA25 (traded in TA22 for this one) Still got the RA25. Better car again - goes like a trooper and, now that it's old and retro, gets a few looks.
5 - Mitsubishi Colt (bought it new - to drive while RA25 getting pulled down, rebuilt and resprayed) Sold it for a deposit on a house.(that was when a house in Leichhardt cost only $68k!)
6 - Mitsubishi Colt - cheap old crap version to get me around while the RA25 still being rebuilt. Sold to a mate when the '25 was finished. This car was a bigger death trap than the EH!

That's it. Had the '25 since 1982, and it's the only car I have owned for the past 15 years. I keep thinking about getting a run-about, but I just keep putting money into my electronics instead.

I did have a bit of a Datsun thing before I got onto toyotas...

1. Datsun 1200 Coupe. Easily broken, easily fixed and thrashed for a good 5 years whilst at Uni.
2. Datsun 1600s (1968, 1969 and half a 1971) - all driven for a short time then put in the shed to restore. All given away unrestored 3 years later.
3. Datsun 260Z. Fun, rusty and a total money pit. Never very reliable, most notably when it blew a 2 inch section of headgasket out the side of the motor. Spent lots, put it in the shed for 2 year then sold.
4. Sigma GE (Chrysler badging still) Wagon - Bought from my Grandpa for $500, driven for 2 years, sold for $500. Poorest designed and built car ever.
5. 1986.5 Supra MA70. Put a 1jz in it. Reliable, fast, luxurious and fun. Sold it because.....
6. 2004 Ford Falcon. Company Car. Not mine so I don't care.

I'm only 19 but i've had a fair few cars more than anyone else i've met.

1968 fj45 landcruiser (253 V8): nothing would stop it till the 3 speed gearbox split end to end. I loved it. It was famous around my area ppl used to line up for a ride in the back. I took out the passenger seat to put junk in and put ppl in th tray (weired reversal i no)

datsun 120y: dad bought it cuz he needed a car while he didn't have a work van and he gave it to me after he cracked a valve so i rebuilt it and rolled it in my padock on friday the 13th with my friends.

Datsun 120y : I got the motor and gearbox out of the rolled 120y and put it in2 a new shell. The front suspension went after taking too many shortcuts and jump and stuff. so we went around hitting every road sign we could firne untill the car wouldn't run nemore.

1985 ford laser: I used 2 fang this car around soooo hard in the end i blew a chucnk out of the gearbox and doubled my money on the insurance claim.

1984 toyota celica SA63: the car i have now i've had a fair few "fender benders" very few of which were my fault the car is gunna b getting a decent rebuilt while i've lost my licence.

Hopfully my next car will b an old skool landcruiser but i'm gunna go the 350 chev instead of the 253. It's gunna be a monster truck (or close 2)

1. 1976? GD Chyrsler Galant
2. Shitty mitsubishi sigma...mid 80's styles
3. 1991 Hyundai Excel
4. 1985 MA61 Supra

i'm only 19 so its not too bad i suppose
i've also helped destroy some paddock bashers a friend has picked up for less than a carton of booze
eg HG Kingswood(drove from Brisbane to Kennilworth, near Malany, had to top up the water in the radiator every 15 minutes and if you took corners too fast fuel would come flying out from some rust hole we couldnt be bothered finding)...was a good paddock burnout\donut vehicle
XD Wagon:- fried the auto transmission in this and blew two tyes doing hand brake turns.
And a postie bike taken out to 120cc Evil or Very Mad Got that sucker up to 95 down a dirt road Very Happy
There are some more...but i cant remember them.

Should also have my first bike in a few months, aiming for either a ZX2R or a FZR250RR

oder cars you say, DAMN STRAIGHT!!!!!! well i do.

they were built rock solid, they are so bloody reliable when looked after, for their generation they are beautiful to look at... my list goes on forever

the 4 i mentioned are cars i owned for more than a year. the other i considered part cars cause i bought them, drove them for no more than 3 months and then sold them.

they included in no particular order:-
2x 2000 toyota echo
VT SS commy Evil or Very Mad
VT Calais
VY commy
VY calais
2x Holden rodeo
2000 Ford falcon
1995 Hyundai excel
1995 Ford courier ute
2003 toyota echo (just bought it)
2002 Nissan Pulsar (gave to parents)
2000 Toyota Landcruiser (diesel turbo, AWSOME)
1999 Mitsubishi Pajero
3x 199x Mazda 121
4x 199x Ford festiva

THESE come under part cars cause like i said i owned them for less than 3 months and i only bought them to sell them, ie, my new echo is for sale. ALTHOUGH the HOLDENS i bought to keep but didnt like it cause i kept comparing to my TA22 and loved the beast HEAPS MORE Evil or Very Mad i couldnt get used to power steering and such a big car eventhough I LOVE LOVE LOVE commys... GO HRT Cool

Being older than dirt my response will be very long on this thread.
Here goes..
1948 Morris 8 Sedan...british racing green with black 17 in steel wheels 848 cc of raging side valve power. 1 and quarter inch SU Carb....wooden floor.mixed hydraulic.cable brakes...my first car...was given to me by a neighbour who would not pay the tipping fee...I was 15...took me 1.5 years to fix everything and get it registered again..I loved that car.sob sob sob.
Rust claimed my child in the end..

1952 Austin A40 Utility..with homemade plywood canopy...4 speed column shift...guess what I lost in the back..it was not the spare key..
Killed by bitch in VW...

1963 Mini 850...shadow blue..fat wheels and no fear..Sold when I got the 6cyl bug..

My first Holden..Baby Blue 1955 FJ Sedan...this was the start of the Holdens I have had..I will just list them...then get onto the other makes..

My first was the worst..I got conned by a friend and the shiny paint...never spoken to him since..He got a spotters fee from the seller..

1952 FJ..good bits from the Blue one were swapped..took a pounding but came back for more.Sold for bits...

48.215
FX...was rust free and drove it for a year and sold it to one of my mates who later did a bare metal repaint...as far as I know he still has it..worth a shit load if he does..It was a one owner car when I got it..belonged to father of a friend of my mums..

1959 FC Holden...red with big white bumble bee stripes over the back..it was my brothers first and he did lots too it.. it went like stink and looked great..
Rust..there was another the same but later..it had kermit green seats and a floor held together with marine paint and f/glass I bought it for $30 and other than the rust the only thing wrong was the clutch fork had split and did not work...that was about 60 mins and no dollars to fix..the owner thought he had blown the g/box..

1954 FJ....This was the ONE..Maroon with black trim..white EH steering wheel ..did lots to this one..red motor triple carbs.big wheels lowered f/glass guards/panels .plexi glass windows...took 400lbs of it original weight of 1900lbs..Stolen and never recovered..lost all my tools as well..I think I know who it was but could never prove it..

Marriage..

My project car was a 1937 Standard Roadster.."A flying 14"...sold to American Army major who was on exchange duties at Holdsworthy Army cAmp...he took it to the US...I lost his address when we moved interstate for a while ..

I got it from an old guy who had an iceworks in Ryde.Sydney.

1965 Holden HD X2 Premier sedan..Chrome wheels..red trim...car was Savannah Bronze and was beautiful...blew engine and traded in on...Ford..

1970's 4 cyl Torana...a piece of shit but it was a company car..dark green with bone trim..manual..sold by the company to the daughter of a major client...she thought she was getting a deal...in later years I met her dad and the thing had faded after 12 months...not surprising as I had driven it hard trying to break it to get a new car.

1976 LH Torana Sedan 2800 6cyl auto...a company car. Bronze with sand trim...beautiful car...was never the same after we got t-boned by an armed guard van ..traded in on Datsun..what were they thinking???I saw it years later in the staff parking lot at Blacktown hospital...the Torana not the Datto..The T still looked good .

1970 HG Monaro Aqua with black trim...just the standard 186...3 speed column shift...I sold it when I got back into Company cars..This car took my growing family..2 kids by then and all our stuff everywhere except WA..It was wholesaled and then resold via dealer at North Rocks in Sydney..Mike Lowe...a young guy had it for a few years and then I saw it again out at St Marys and about 18 mths ago it was on ebay...up the north coast somewhere..

In later years had Holden Commodore Acclaim...nice car..Son hit tree...He was ok but my Commi was dead.

HX holden sedan..yellow..company car...was piece of shit but not my fault...previous custodian flogged it up and down the coast every week end with his boat on the back and took the tow bar off during the business week...I told the manager the auto was stuffed but no no no Greg its OK...The end came when the two of us went to see a client and I made him drive it...on returning to office he filled in requisition for new Sigma...with the comment...leave that piece of shit in the basement and use the loan car...so I got a white Sigma...not bad but gutless really.
Remember these are a bit out of order because of overlaps and memory lapses..
The HD was traded on a... wait for it..a 1972 Ford Escort Panel van...new ...$2012 on the road..and I had to borrow money ...first time I had done that.. I had the windows tinted, put in a a cartridge player...stop laughing...and fitted a set of escort rims from a twin cam that a brother of a guy I worked with had as spare to his twin cam..the whole thing was very cool ...for the times..
Great little unit until I got my first company car ...the already revealed 4 cyl torana and sold the van it my brother who on sold it to his bosses son who had it a week and nearly killed himself down the south coast...8 in the back..dopey.

Several Datsun 180B's...one dark blue one pumpkin colour...manuals and ok for the open road but hopeless in traffic...I worked in traffic..They did not last and neither did the manager who said thats what we had to have because they were so good in Bendigo??? a small regional city with no traffic and lots of open roads..

I just remembered another Holden..Russel (brown and leaves) and a sad Commodore - 4 cyl model that I bought after I walked to his owners house with a raging fever and sick as a dog..(thats my excuse for purchase) - saw and bought him but he was good to us in his own small way..we were in a hole financially and he never let us down...he passed some years late in a head on with my eldest daughter driving...she was fine but Russ was gone..

Morris Minor low-light 2 door...Ford falcon diff and brakes all round but lost interest/no time/no money/no space - mum wanted it off the front drive...I had not lived at home for 10 years so I can understand that..sold for scrap..
1975 Toyota Corolla KE35...A sweet little Coupe...stolen by some bastard in Canberra and smashed into a tree..
1976 MX13 Toyota Corona Mark 2...sold just recently.
1978 RA40 Toyota Celica Coupe...now my second daughters daily driver..
1988 Ford KE Laser...originally my eldest daughters but passed to me when it was unregisterd and getting ready to fall to bits..my son and I fixed it up and he drives it every day..288000+ks and going strong..
Then ..
My current 1979 MX32 Cressida..
and the '75 MX13 Sedan I got recently..
Daily drivers..
My first 1976? MX 32...First model...what a great car..destroyed in accident with stolen car..we drove home ...he went to the wreckers..
1983 Mazda 323 Super Deluxe 5 door ..nice car...traded on 1992 Toyota Corolla 4 door...Cheap bastard that place..not so nice and I left it there when I moved on...

Couple of 88 - 90'S Camrys...one a heap one very nice..

1992 Toyota Scamry CSI...Lovely car that I had for 4 years and traded on Commodore Acclaim...The Scamry is still local and looks as good as ever..nice couple bought it the next day from the dealer who did not even have to wash it..

1999 Subaru Impreza RX Sedan...silver with black trim..tinted windows..a nice car... my current daily driver..

my last write off i hit a 60yr old lady on the rear driver side at 140k/h, sent her car bout 5m in the air,2 360deg turns and she ended up on the other side of the road. NOW i see no humor in what happened but she was at fault cause she was coming out of a side street and didnt give way

man, how the hell could it be HER fault! You were doing 140!!

Now considering the fastest you can do is 110 and thats on a highway, i'll take a guess that it was an 80kph road that you were doing 140 which means you were doing 60kph over man! Jesus, i know im never expecting someone to be going that fucken fast!
