replaceing ae86 suspension

I just ordered myself a new set of shocks (KYB monotube)for my aus spec sprinter. Any tips or tricks from anyone thats done this b4 can provide would be usefull thanks.

only backs. if i had a job id be doing all 4 and more.. lucky i get these at cost price otherwise i couldnt even afford these 2, lol. Well as long as its easy forget i asked. Thanks.

haha so easy
1. crack wheel nuts
2. jack up car onto jackstands
3. take wheels off
4. undo bolts (14mm?) from bottom of shocks
5. undo bolts from top of shock
6. take shock out
7. put new shock in
8. reverse steps 5 - 1
done

Where can i get spring compressors? I'll be changing the springs in my 86 tomorrow and i'm gonna need to get some. Do supercheap et al stock them? Guess i'll find out in the morning...

You basically dont need spring compressors (unless your running stock heights). Mine are 60mm lower than standard which is fairly low i suppose. I had the car jacked up in areas other than the rear end shaft (which is dangerous if not done right) but this basically means u can just push down the rear end with your hand and slip the spring in!

ok guys sorry and all but u are complicating the process.
1. jack car up.
2. put car on stands. (safety first)
3. undo bottom and top bolts on strut. (top bolt in boot area of car.)
4. bolt new strut in place.
5. let car down.
unless you have coilovers then you will not need to compress the spring as the hatchi runs seperate spring and strut combination.
