Here's a question to all you celica boys. Does anyone know if there is a bigger air flow meter that can be put on a 22RE. i have all of the CAI set up but the air is still very restricted cause of the AFM.

thanks

are u sure its restrictive

22re prob has 50 hp

a hose 20 mm can flow enough air for that hp

hehe

unless u go turbo or something

airflow meters flow enough for what the engine needs

changing it will only stuff up yr mixtures and fuel economy

oh haha. real fcukin funny.
yes your right about one thing. the AFM is suited to that specific engine. but this isn't a standard engine hence needing more air. and even a standard 22RE puts out more that 50hp

Pretty much any flapper-type AFM is going to be restrictive, and unless you upgrade your ECU you're stuck with a flapper-type AFM. Maybe someone makes one of those interceptor things to convert a MAP signal into an AFM signal, but considering the age of the engine I doubt it.

well tell me what mods u have

if u r goin to the hassle of getting bigger ir flow just fit aftermarket and get rid of it

much less hassle

im not being funny im just tryin to say sometimes its not worth spending money tryin to mod things when all u do is stuff things in other areas
