only "little" men can fit in exas
big men fit but complain about the sheer crappyines that is EXA

I am over 6 foot and not small, I can fit in an exa with no worries, my brother is even bigger than me and he owned an exa, neither of us complained about the sheer crappyness as it was one of the best cars I have ever driven, got an unbelievable amount of POSITIVE comments from non homo's and smoked any car that it came up against.
I believe most toyotas are better than most exas, but you all must give the exa some credit (not in standard form) but when it is done up right, it looks mean and goes hard.
If only my brother still had the car I would be able show you how fast and how good it actually was, as I said before it would beat most of you guys in a quartermile race and here you are all saying how gay they are, mustn't be too gay if they can get many positive comments and could beat most of YOU guys posting here.
I am not an Exa enthusiast or anything, just stressing that exa's arent the worst car in the world as you guys are making them sound.
|
you sound like a smart person after all.
maybe we can be friends
You're exactly right, exa's can beat most of the people posting here. My exa is almost as stock as they come with some engine problems, and I still have no problem beating all the corolla boys out there.
stick a CA18DET in and you've got a car that will easily stand its ground against a much wider range of turbo or modified vehicles.
Would you give the same crap to a silvia with a ca18 in it? (yeah its RWD, so what).
Doubt it
I think this is just an exa conspiracy.

Stocke S13 CA18ETs suck ass. On paper the EXA shits all over them for power. Although... papar and real life are two totaly different things. One is made of wood pulp... the other is not.

just goes to show how you should be crying if you get beaten by a stock one.
My car is probably at around 97kw and like i said i have no trouble against all the "little" cars on this forum.

when I was looking for a mate you could get better condition Exas for less than equivalent condition Celicas - k's mods etc.. (like in the trady that is)
But the Celica is a more expensive car really so I guess it all works out. What is an exa these days? 5k for a modded one in the trady? I would hope to sell mine for 6k if I was to sell it..

EXA N13: 1.8ltr CA18DE - 73kw per ton at the wheels, peak power at 5,700rpm
Celica ST162: 2.0 3S-GE - 83kw per ton at the wheels, peak power at 6,050rpm
So on paper, stock the ST162 rocks the EXAs block. Once again though, wood pulp.

But what is the weight of the two cars, this may differentiate the performance of actual on road driving.

I suppose that talking about a Nissan or a Toyota Forum the majority of the people will be biased, so lets just stick to the quote "each to their own", the looks of a car is a personal preference only.

I told you, wood pulp.
Oops, sorry, my figures where off (I was allowing for 180kg of cargo - ie. big driver and passenger). Here are the real stats:
EXA N13
Power: 97kw @ 5,700rpm (162nm)
Power at wheels (roughly): 79kw
Weight: 900kg
Power to weight: 87kw per ton at the wheels (it weighs less than a ton, so the number goes up)
Celica ST162
Power: 121kw @ 6,050rpm (191nm)
Power at wheels (roughly): 98kw
Weight: 1000kg
Power to weight: 98kw per ton at the wheels
Obviously the Celica is superior in stock form on paper.

no dude you multiplied by .X instead of dividing..
and the Celica 162 only does 103 stock. You SURE about the Exa figure??
beacuse that makes exa: 107.7 kw/ton and celica 103kw/ton (of course we are not talking about MY celica here
not convinced about Exa figure dude..

*shrug* Well that's what the CA18 puts out stock. Atleast, from the info I Can find. But from the info I can find, the Celica has 121kw and 191nm.

as much as i hate to admit it, an exa would probably smoke my car no worries. im not too keen on how the exas look either, although of course im going to be biased because the only exa owner i know is a complete knob jockey. what is the 0 - 100 on a stock exa?
