[AE86] Zenki Diff question Tue, 20 July 2004 06:12 Go to next message
Ok, this one is for all die hard ae86 freaks (Garth put your hand down! Laughing)

I've got my hands on a JDM Zenki rear end differential for the ae86 with NO CENTRE.

I heard that Zenki axles need to be shortened to fit LSD centres, plus specific diff centres are quite hard to find???

Also, is this a bolt on application or will the aus spec ae86 tailshaft be too long/short?

any info appreciated

oi shutup

you have the ring gear, axles and whatnot?

axles from a zenki JDM ae86 disc to disc t series rear end wont need shortening as far as i know to fit an afetrmarket lsd

you going to run a trd/kaaz/cusco centre?

as for your driveshaft question, i dont believe you need to change it.

You will need to shave your axles if you're fitting a TRD LSD centre AND your axles are from a non-LSD open disc brake rear end. MR2Drift can confirm that for you - I was told it was a very long job which kept neighbours awake early in the morning.

No probs if you go for either a KAAZ or Cusco centre as they are made to accommodate both LSD and non-LSD axles as long as you match zenki LSD to zenki axles.

Either way, shaving axles isn't too hard but if you want to save yourself the extra work, just go the KAAZ or Cusco then if you can find one.

Oz-spec tailshaft will be too long. Needs shortening. Or even easier still, use the rear section of a T18 tailshaft. Bolt straight up.
