anyone do a fast time than 4min30sec through galston gorge.
Evil or Very Mad
starting just before the 5km twisty road sign at the top on the hornsby side, and finishing at the first street name sign on galston side.
i did that in my old escort.
Rolling Eyes
needless to say she had some work done to her she wasnt wot youd call stock (cam, twin webbers, extractors, low ratio diff and a shit load done to the suspention.)

4min30sec? Is that quick?
I had a mate who did that trip (not that time, maybe 5.30 mins) in his stock standard 75 corona and he almost made me shit myself. He used to drive it every day. And the direction you've said is easier. Try going up those hairpin turns instead of down.

its soooooooooooooo much easier to go UP those hair pins cos the camber is right for it like you can take more speed into them. but going down them is not so cool if you dont take em mega wide. the only easier part about going from hornsby side to galston side is a few corners on the galston side are better going up em then down.

and jorsh did u just crash at the gorge thats not cool hope your ok and the car aint a right off.

Those hairpins are awesome going up!

I was doing them the other night. Handbrake about 5-10 metres before corner, then POWAH! GOing up is better IMO coz you have more control (less momentum/inertia/whatever).....

well the point is u don't do this stupid kind of driving (my fav style hehehe Very Happy ) during the day u do it at nite.
Cos at nite u can use both lanes and see the head lights of other cars so u know if other cars are commin.

but yeah it is fun going up them too.
Galston gorge is fun both ways.
I recon the council planner who approved that road musta been a hoon hehehe.
