"In Japan, a 6MGE 3000cc model was introduced in 1986 that was rated at 200 HP. The engine was identical to the 5MG in design, but related parts to the pistons and crankshaft were different. It is interesting to note that the 6MG was rated by Toyota with the same horsepower as the successor 7MGE 3000cc (a 24 valve model) but with a better torque band! In fact it used a 7MG crankshaft before the 7MG was introduced." ( http://www.toysport.com/Technical%20Information/5m _6m_tech_notes.htm )
Compression is lower than 10:1 but not by alot.
Instead of answering no, correct me!
These are jap specs as that is what my engine is.
Ausi 6M's would be less, de-tuned to save money on warranty claims.

All 6M's are jap spec, never released in Australia.
Plus you need to swap on 5mge emmisions gear to get it registered, and to add to that, you won't find a 6mge ECU.
The fuel maps are different and the 6M runs richer on the 5MGE ecu.
In relation to torque, the 7MGE has ACIS which helps to increase the torque band, so there is a flatter torque curve distribution, rather than just a peak.

i am still quite interested, could u please post some pics of the interior???
front seats, dash and consols, and boot area would be great.
if i did buy, it would only be a matter of getting it to one of the truck yards around there to put it on top of a load of steel etc.
cheers

I fitted a 6mge to my MA61 and have registered it three time since. You don't need to get it engineered for two reasons
1:the rego papers don't have engine numbers on them
2: the 6mge bolts straight in with no mods, it is just an upgrade of the standard donk
BTW I will be selling my MA61 very likely in september. It wont be cheap though.
