accelerator cable Sun, 25 July 2004 23:52 Go to next message
hi all

will most likely be putting the 2 dhla's on the '28 this weekend, but we are gonna need to bung an accelerator cable on, rather than the crapy linkages that are on it at the moment.

any suggestions on what car we could grab one off? had a look at my dad's excel, too short, and his camry, too long.

edit: just a steering in the right direction would be cool Very Happy not too pricey as well, preferably Smile

cheers
evan

You can buy redy made new ones from places like repco, Autopro, Autobarn etc. I used one in my '28 and it was ok. i think you just cut them to length. Wasnt very pricey at all!

....Plus you lose 5kg's of steel when u ditch that dodgy linkage system!

I'm using a long one from an AE92 Corolla, and I will have it cut down to length (once I mod and fit an accelerator pedal) by the local cable maker mob for a small fee.
Cheers,
Mitch.

comprende.

plus if my acc is sticking ie idle is set at about 8-900rpm but quite often i stop at lights and its idling at 11-1500, would it be acc mechs or more likely carby sticking?

just off the top of your head.

lifting the acc pedal solves prob.
