Central Coast Motorsport Complex Tue, 27 July 2004 02:46 Go to next message
Hey People,
I was just reading the thread on the next toyota Nat'ls, and it reminded me of something.
About 2 years ago, i heard the MG car club, together with a few other clubs, was going to build a Motorsport complex somwhere up central coast NSW way. It was to include a hillclimb, small circuit, dragstrip and skidpan(i think). I read about it in that Motorsport mewspaper/rag thing.

Has anyone else heard anything about this?
i havn't heard any more, but as a sydneysider, it would be sick to have a good set of facilities so close to the CBD. Very Happy

I've heard about it, its council approved but nobody will sell them any land to build it on apparently.

Yep it's the MG Car Cub Newcastle who is going to build it.
The council knocked it back after the local wannabe farmers kicked up a stink about it on noise grounds,as if the fighter planes aren't loud when they fly over their land.
The club already has the land and is still pressing forward but haven't heard anything much of late.Should be able to find out more on Sunday at the hillclimb.
It would be good for the Nats esp as i won't have far to go. Laughing

Thanks for the info guys.

yeah, i agree on the future Nats location, just up the road Very Happy

I just went to the MGCCNSW site, and theyve got a bit of a blurb on it.

(I shoulda gone there first i spose Rolling Eyes )

Seems they have a Khanacross circuit, wonder how fun that is? It would probably trash a car with lower than average ride height though Crying or Very Sad

and a well set up sprinter would be a blast up the climb i spose, bit of a cross between drags and circuit?
