i have put a sw20 turbo box into a 162 celica, all the information i recieved told me it was an easy conversion...... what i didnt get told was that an LSD sw20 gearbox was a completely different story, the box is bigger (read modified crossmember) driveshafts had to be modified as the mr2 shafts are almost twice the size of the celica ones i had, so in my case it wasnt so easy or cheap and i never stopped having problems with the drivetrain. if you have any specific questions please dont hesitate to ask.
I know that you have to combine the inner CV's with GT4 outer shafts.
What effort is required to changed the shift linkages around to the back of the gearbox instead of the front?
I've never heard anyone else talk about crossmember probs.
Where was it interfering.
I may not have that problem as I have a similar front end to the ST204 Celica.
