AE86 for cheap

Hey, i'm on the lookout for a straight stockish AE86 (for a daily driver to begin with while i get my other project finshed) but unsure on what they're roughly worth... I live in SA
Requirements:
Stock Aussie model
Straight body
Little or no rust
4-AC obviously (daily driver for a while)
What should i expect to pay? I've seen a few of these pop up for abot 1500-2000 (sold by non-enthusiaists). Modded one's seem to be going from 3500+ but i jsut wanna get my hands on one to begin with.

modded ones for 3500? WHERE???
expect to pay 3-4k+ for a stock example in todays market...

Join the cue, there would be at least 20 or so people on these forums looking for exactly the same as what you are after. The best chance of picking up a sprinter is getting the local trading post thurs morning and ringing around and looking at them the same day WITH THE MONEY, otherwise they will sell like hotcakes.

Actually, the quicker way is to CONSTANTLY surf the trading post on the net and be ready to buy without even looking at the car ...
At least, I figured out that for $1,400 for both an AE86 and a 20v 4ag, you couldn't go wrong, eh?
Heh heh ... Sexy16's got a monopoly in NSW mostly which makes things harder for most ppl.
