Homemade Valve Spring Compressor Sat, 21 August 2004 08:39 Go to next message
Im rebuilding my motorbike at the moment and i needed a valve spring compressor, i went to supercheap, repco and what ever else i could find

They were all too expencive, too retarded or made for OHV GM donks and were massive...

so a quick search on the internet and i found this: http://fierroracing.com/valve_spring_compressor.ht ml

Works like a charm, i made one with a spark plug socket, good stuff! Very Happy

Just thought i might post it incase someone else finds it usefull Smile

id personally spend the money and get a decent money...seeing as it is rings which normally cause people to rebuild motors! ""You crack or fracture one, youre fucked!!""

a good way to get valve out is to smash it down with a socket. if done correctly the 2 collets will be sitting in the socket, and its all apart. easy Very Happy but puttin them back in u will need a copressor. u can always get a old G clamp and adapt it to work.
