Brake Booster Problem Tue, 24 August 2004 05:04 Go to next message
Ok whats happening is when the car is at idle and i pump the brakes (fast) the idle goes from 800rpm up to nearly 1500rpm.... what would cause this to happen?? i have checked the VAC line to the booster and its all fine.

Does is sound like i need a new brake booster??

thanks

My previous corolla did this just days before the diaphragm inside the booster split.

The drive home after it split with un-assisted braking was interesting Rolling Eyes

May or may not be your problem though?

Its just the pressure realase of the brake booster. if ur brakes are still holding u dont need to replace it.

But if u have doubts u can just get it tested.. costs like 30 bucks to test.

Well my other corolla (same brake booster) deffently has a better feel too the brakes compared to my 4agte corolla with the upgraded front disks and calipers. But it has alot more fade so thats why im thinking its the booster.

Would it be a good idea to get the Twincam booster? im still running drums on the rear tho.

thanks for ur help
