Is the guards the only panel available for TA22?
It is disappointing that the early style are not available as these are the most difficult to find (not that the later ones are especially easy to find either).

hey munki wanna ut up a poll to see who is interested in group buy? cause i am... would like 2 front guards for the '22 if we can get the price down for a group buy... unfortuneately for me at this stage $375 is a bit out of range, but still that price isnt too bad considering we will never get rust in them

Might be interested in a pair of guards and bonnet for the RA23.
As suggested by others, there should be a poll to see how many are interested and what the resulting prices will be.

Ive just ordered a front apron from him, will be about 2 weeks to make. Let me know if u guys do do a group by as i did mention your name Daniel(not that the savings would be much on an $80 apron...Bargain).
Daniel I forgot to ask on the phone, do the parts come in undercoat.

Just a quick question\thought. Are these things legal? Reason I ask is in a crash I would not want it to send fibreglass splinters rocketing off at 100kph towards bystanders?

According to the ADRs front fneders must be made in such a way that if a car were to hit them (from slightly sideways of front on), it would be redirected away from the front wheel.
I know that the original metal ones achieve this, but I would think that any fibreglass pannel would fail these tests, and I'm betting that they would not be legal.
While saying that, I would love a set of RA23 panels and a RA23 bonnet, but the money is a bit much for me ATM.

Fiberglass guards are perfectly legal on any car that had no intrusion setup built into the factory item.

If we can get the prices a bit cheaper count me in for a bonnet lower apron and hatch for a RA28 also would he make the interior boot trims that go over the shock towers for a RA28 mine are still compleate but are badly sun damaged and brittle.

hey peoples! i have started a poll for these parts in the general car talk section as it is where you can get a poll going.
so please check out this link

if you are interested in these panels, vote for what you want and we can hopefully get an idea as to what people are after and numbers too
please be aware that it is not a definate but rather to get an idea of the interest and willingness of people to buy these parts
munki: if you wanna check the poll in a week or so and check the numbers and then maybe you could go back to the bloke and give him rough estimate numbers for each part and then come back to us with what he says and even possibly prices.
then we can find out who is really willing to commit to a group buy or not. my votes already there

i think that in nsw, not sure bout other states, that you cannot legally use any guard that has not been crash tested. i remember looking into fibreglass panels before and im pretty sure that is what i came up with.
if you are worried about keeping you car legal (and insured) it would be worth a call to the rta or an engineer.

I think you can use fiberglass guards on the RA/TA Celicas, the bonnet however has reinforceing under it which may cause an issue. ? .
However that being said I'd be interested in finding out if a liftback can be made.

lambolica the bonnet is a two piece construction bonded togher just like the original. and also 28 hatches are available but i dunno the price.
